University at Albany
As a first step in a series of planned renovations, we transformed the University’s former infirmary into dynamic swing space. Understanding that the Hudson Building would be the setting of some students’ entire academic career, we sought to create a desirable and flexible environment that displaced academic departments could call home. This meticulous rehabilitation project provided comfortable, modern accommodations while honoring the original historic architecture. Through a collaborative approach to sustainable design, the project achieved LEED Platinum Certification and was recognized with an AIA design award.
The Hudson Building is one of several planning and design assignments that we completed with the University at Albany including a comprehensive surge study of 1.8 million square feet in 21 buildings on the main and downtown campuses to enable the continued renewal of historic facilities for future generations of students.
