SUNY Erie
At community colleges, students are more likely to achieve their academic goals when they spend time on campus between classes. A key objective of the Erie Community College STEM Building was to create an environment that encourages students to hang out, seek help outside of class, participate in mentoring, and forge a support network with their peers. This state-of-the-art facility, designed in collaboration with Kideney Architects, contains Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Engineering Labs, cross-discipline support spaces, and student collaboration areas.
The STEM Building was a product of our comprehensive multi-campus Program Needs Analysis and Space Utilization Assessment for the College’s three campuses that identified a need for a new facility to support their health science programs and prepare students for futures in STEM-related careers.
