Clarkson University

The Science Center at Clarkson University is a massive concrete facility that has not been appreciably renovated since it was originally constructed in 1971. At the onset of the design project, JMZ conducted a thorough Program Study to assess the long-term space needs for the entire building; test and quantify renovation and building addition concepts; and determine the overall funding requirements. Comprehensive renovations and strategic additions will improve accessibility to and within the building, significantly increase energy efficiency, abate asbestos, right-size instructional spaces to support active learning, add office and research space, and create various types of interdisciplinary collaborations spaces for students and faculty.

The 34,000 SF, $22 million Phase I West Addition will house STEM labs, classrooms, a research studio, and collaboration areas and will allow direct access to the adjacent building via a new Bridge of Innovation, highlighting the achievements of several notable alumni.

Magnificent! These are absolutely OUTSTANDING, and we are over the moon with what you have been able to accomplish. Thank you!
