Science teaching facilities are among the most complex buildings on any college campus. Traditional, dedicated labs for Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and the other sciences are being replaced with Interdisciplinary Science Learning Centers that share support and office space among the various disciplines. These centers improve communication among faculty and provide administrators with a greater degree of flexibility, particularly as supported research projects ebb and flow. Interdisciplinary science labs promote collaborative student learning and support new and changing technologies.
